The “Lens Tells the Story of Thai Heritage Cities” photo contest is a strong fit for photographers who love traditions, festivals, local life, and Thai cultural heritage. The theme asks for more than a beautiful photo; it asks for an image that can carry a story.
Thai heritage can appear in grand ceremonies, but it can also live in small details: hands preparing festival objects, lantern light, local clothing, music, food, processions, or quiet moments between generations.
Who This Contest Is For
The contest is open to Thai nationals living in Thailand, with no age limit. It is suitable for amateur photographers, travelers, students, content creators, and local people who want to tell the story of their own community.
Each participant can submit up to 10 works, which gives room to tell different sides of a festival or tradition.
What Kind of Photos Fit the Theme
The photo should communicate the value and cultural wisdom behind a Thai tradition or festival. It should not only record an event, but help viewers understand why the moment matters.
A strong image might show a familiar festival from a fresh angle, or a small human detail that reveals the deeper meaning of the tradition.
Rules and File Requirements
Submitted images must be created by the participant, must not have won another contest, and must not be AI-generated or edited with AI tools such as generative fill or AI upscaling.
Images must not contain watermarks, photographer credits, logos, text, graphics, borders, or manipulated elements that distort the truth of the event.
The photo must have been taken within 5 years of the deadline, from 2021 onward, and participants should keep the highest-resolution original file for verification.
Judging and Prizes
The judging criteria total 100 points: meaning and content 40 points, creativity and viewpoint 30 points, artistic beauty 20 points, and technical quality 10 points.
The total prize value across all regions is more than 120,000 baht. Each region includes a 15,000 baht first prize, an 8,000 baht first runner-up prize, a 4,000 baht second runner-up prize, and two honorable mention awards of 1,500 baht each.
MiniPriza’s Note
For this contest, the story matters. Before pressing the shutter, ask what the photo is really saying about Thai tradition: faith, joy, community, craft, memory, or cultural knowledge passed from one generation to the next.
Festival scenes can be full of color and detail, but memorable photos often focus on one clear moment: a face, a hand, a gesture, light, movement, or a symbol that helps viewers feel the culture without needing a long explanation.
