PEA LED Photo Contest: New Light of Faith and Sustainable Cultural Value

The “New Light of Faith and Sustainable Value” photo contest is a strong fit for photographers who enjoy cultural places, temples, historic sites, night photography, and storytelling through light.

Organized by the Provincial Electricity Authority and the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand, the contest connects photography with the PEA LED project, which has installed energy-saving LED lighting in cultural tourism sites across Thailand.

Who This Contest Is For

The contest is open to Thai nationals living in Thailand with no age limit. It is suitable for amateur photographers, travelers, mobile photographers, and anyone interested in Thai cultural tourism sites.

Before shooting, participants should check the official list of eligible locations under the PEA LED project, because the theme is tied to those cultural tourism sites.

What the Theme Invites You to Photograph

The word “light” here can be read both literally and emotionally. It can mean the LED lighting that reveals architecture at night, but also the sense of faith, memory, and cultural value that a place carries.

A strong image might show a historic site at night, architectural details shaped by light, visitors using the space, or the relationship between a cultural landmark and its surrounding community.

Rules and Submission

Each participant can submit up to 10 photos. The photos must have been taken between January 1, 2024 and August 20, 2026, and must be created by the participant without infringing on anyone else’s rights.

The contest accepts digital image files from many kinds of cameras, including DSLR, mirrorless, compact, action cameras, scanned film, mobile phones, and tablets. Images must be JPG or JPEG files and must not contain watermarks, text, graphics, or borders.

The announcement also states that submitted works must be created by human effort and must not be generated by AI prompts.

Prizes and Deadline

The submission deadline is August 20, 2026 at 23:59. Applicants register and upload photos through the official contest website, and can change submitted images until the deadline.

The total prize value is 160,000 baht, including a 50,000 baht first prize, a 30,000 baht first runner-up prize, a 20,000 baht second runner-up prize, and 20 excellence awards of 3,000 baht each.
